HELLO.... A while ago I began creating a work of the Craft. I wanted it to be full of the feel of traditional magicks, but also very practical, ~ cool and current. I called it, ~ Bad Ass: Living And Spells. I soon realized it would develop into a series. Here you will find the "lace and trimmings" of that first volume, plus many more extra fascinations. PLEASE MAKE SURE to scroll down to the very end of this page so as to NOT MISS any of unusual, exquisite things there!!! *********
Yes...
AND, --- while you are being MAGICAL >>> This is what you should do: love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men ... re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss what insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem. --- Walt Whitman

Oh, Lovely Krampus!!!...
Heh-heh-heh!!!... They're banging on old car radiators, below... :D
November 24 at 12:57 AM ·
Krampusnacht, or “Krampus Night,” (December 5, 2024) is a traditional European festival celebrated on the evening of December 5th, primarily in Alpine regions such as Austria, Germany, and parts of Central Europe. It is rooted in folklore and centers around Krampus, a horned, demonic figure who serves as a counterpart to Saint Nicholas.
>>>
Key Elements of Krampusnacht:
1. Krampus’ Role
• In contrast to Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved children with gifts, Krampus is said to punish naughty children. He carries chains, a bundle of birch sticks, and sometimes a sack to “carry away” misbehaving kids.
• Krampus serves as a warning to children to behave, reinforcing moral lessons during the Advent season.
2. Celebrations
• Krampusnacht is often marked by Krampuslauf (“Krampus Run”), during which people dressed as Krampus parade through towns. These events are lively, with revelers wearing elaborate, scary costumes complete with masks, fur, and horns.
• Participants may roam the streets, jingling bells and playfully “scaring” spectators, often accompanied by Saint Nicholas.
3. Folkloric Origins
• The tradition likely predates Christianity and is thought to have roots in pre-Christian Alpine paganism, where Krampus was a figure associated with the winter solstice.
• With the spread of Christianity, Krampus was integrated into St. Nicholas traditions as a cautionary figure.
4. Modern Popularity
• In recent years, Krampusnacht has gained popularity beyond Europe, with celebrations, parades, and themed events spreading to North America and beyond.
• Krampus has also become a figure of fascination in pop culture, inspiring movies, books, and art.

As Krampusnacht falls on the night before St. Nicholas Day, December 6th., while St. Nicholas visits homes to leave gifts for good children, Krampus is said to visit to scare—or even punish—the naughty ones.
It’s a festive, spooky, and mischievous tradition that brings a unique twist to the holiday season! ~ From "We Love Skeletons & Skulls".

From "Bad Ass: Living And Spells, ~ How To Make A Protection Necklace...
This is very easy. Get some necklace cord. I prefer black cord. Blue beads are protective because blue is the color of the sky. I like to use "eye" beads too; these are associated with the Greek culture and are said to be protection against the "evil eye".
I also like to use blue tiger's eye beads.
Get a pendant that you like to be the center of the necklace. Start by slipping the pendant on the necklace cord first, to be the center. Then, string the beads on the cord on either side. When you're finished, simply knot the necklace firmly. You can place it in the light of a full moon, or run it through the smoke of incense. Remember to remove your necklace before dawn or the sun will take away what the moon gave.

Sybil Leek...
Sybil Leek was born on the 22nd of February, 1917 in the village of Normacot in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England to a comfortable, middle-class family. She claimed to have been descended from the historical Molly Leigh, who had been accused during the witch hunts. In her book The Complete Art of Witchcraft, pg 21, she calls this 800 year family beneficial relationship with 'our ancient Celtic form of Witchcraft' and occultism. At the age of 16 she married her music teacher, though he died two years later, whereupon Leek returned to live with her grandmother, quitting the Witchcraft research association. She later stayed with an acquaintance in Lyndhurst, in the New Forest, and claimed to have spent some of the following years living amongst the New Forest gypsies. When she was 20, Sybil returned to her family, who had now moved to the edge of the New Forest. She opened three antique shops; one in Ringwood, one in Somerset, and one in the New Forest village of Burley. She soon moved to Burley herself, into a house behind the shop Lawfords of Burley.
Her eccentric habits as a self-described witch soon resulted in problems. Media interest grew, and Sybil became tired of the attention from news reporters and tourists. Chris Packham, in a BBC article about her, quoted a contemporary saying, "people either thought she was a bit of a joke or a fraud." Although the village itself benefited from the extra tourism and visitors, some were unhappy with the extra traffic and noise. Her landlord eventually refused to renew her lease, prompting Leek to move away from the area and emigrate to the United States of America. ~ Wikpedia.

From "Bad Ass: Living And Spells, ~ From The Chapter On Potion Making...
Making Herbal Vinegar & Rosewater: This is very easy, --- but, you must use fresh herbs, and fresh rose petals. I've made basil vinegar, oregano vinegar, thyme vinegar and garlic chive vinegar. Just heat red wine or apple cider vinegar to warm, bruise the fresh herbs slightly, put them in a pretty bottle and pour the vinegar down over them to cover them completely. Your vinegar will take at least a few weeks to "make up," for the essence of the herb to go into the vinegar. ...I made rosewater... You must use fresh rose petals, hopefully from home-grown fragrant roses, such as Chrysler Imperial, Peace, Madame Hardy, Tuscany, --- or other fragrant damask or Old World roses. Drop the fresh, crushed petals into warmed spring water, add a little vodka to preserve and a pinch of sea salt. It will probably take a few months for your rose water to "make up".
Poke Salad, Or Poke Sallat...
"Poke Salad Annie" & How To Prepare Poke Sallat Or Poke Salad......
I'm sure times in the swamp were pretty scary...
"Poke Salad Annie, the gator's got your granny..." :O
Poke Salad >>> The dish is so-named because it is made with pokeweed, a pervasive green that can be toxic when ingested improperly. The recipe is also known as poke sallet (a French-derived word similar to salade) and polk salad (inspired by the country song “Polk Salad Annie”). Since pokeweed is especially prevalent in Southern Appalachia, the make-do recipe became a type of foraged staple for some, especially in rural and impoverished households. For those familiar with the popular Appalachian dish “killed lettuce,” poke salad is similar in theory. While killed lettuce merely refers to tossing greens in a piping-hot dressing to warm and wilt the lettuce, poke salad requires actual cooking to turn the leaves into an edible side dish. Another similarity between the two regional recipes is the common use of bacon grease to dress the greens with major flavor. Bonus points if the bacon grease was grabbed from an old Crisco can on the kitchen counter. Killed lettuce uses hot bacon grease along with other ingredients to create a dressing, while poke salad is typically sautéed in the bacon grease after being twice-boiled.>>>
Pokeweed >>>
How To Make Poke Salad... Pokeweed can be foraged in many different places. Think beside the road, along ditches, surrounding fences, and basically anywhere where weeds tend to pop up. While the grown plant features maroon stems and berries (seen above), it’s advised to use the green leaves of a younger pokeweed during the spring when making poke salad. After being boiled (many swear by boiling the leaves twice), the toxicity is gone and the wilted leaves are drained of the water and ready to be combined with bacon grease in a skillet. They are then often finished with salt, pepper, crumbled bacon, and any other seasonings. The final dish tastes akin to sautéed spinach or mustard greens with a subtle touch of bitter earthiness. In some households, it was common to combine the sautéed greens with eggs to make a hearty scramble. If you don't have bacon grease on hand or don't eat pork, you can use olive oil or vegetable oil in the skillet step instead. Turning an unused weed into food on the table, poke salad can be considered amongst the ways that Southern home cooks once created sustenance out of cleverness, similar to the Depression pies that turned unexpected pantry staples into pies like Vinegar Pie and Soda Cracker Pie. Ingenuity that you can eat? The best kind. ~ From Southern Living.

The Wise Words Of Tecumseh...
"Trouble no one about their religion;
respect others in their view, and
demand that they respect yours.
Love your life, perfect your life,
beautify all things in your life.
Seek to make your life long and its
purpose in the service of your
people.
Prepare a noble death song for the
day when you go over the great
divide.
Always give a word or a sign of
salute when meeting or passing a
friend,
even a stranger, when in a lonely
place.
Show respect to all people and
grovel to none.
When you arise in the morning give
thanks for the food and for the joy
of living.
If you see no reason for giving
thanks, the fault lies only in
yourself.
Abuse no one and no thing, for
abuse turns the wise ones to fools
and robs the spirit of its vision.
When it comes your time to die, be
not like those whose hearts are
filled
with the fear of death, so that
when their time comes they weep
and pray for a little more time to
live their lives over again in a
different way.
Sing your death song and die like a
hero going home."

You Might Want To Befriend A Crow...
According to National Geographic, crows are some of the most intelligent birds in the world. They have also always been held in incredibly high esteem and are considered to be symbols of prophecy, transformation, change, and freedom.
Why you should befriend a crow...
So, maybe you don’t need to specifically befriend a crow but you definitely need to stay on their good side.
This is because a five-year study by scientists at the University of Washington has found they possess an unusually good memory for human faces linked to a stressful event.
Not only do crows remember the faces of humans for five years, but these clever corvids can also warn their friends and family about you, too. I don’t know about you but being the target of a murder of local crows sounds bloody terrifying.
However, if you do choose to buddy up with a crow, they’ll actually bring you gifts. They may be fiercely protective and hold a hell of a grudge but they are generous souls, too!
John Marzluff, conservation ecologist at the University of Washington said that crows take part in “gifting” by leaving behind keys, lost earrings, bones, or rocks, for the people who feed them.
How to befriend a crow...
According to Pet Helpful, following these steps can help you to become friends with a crow:
Find food that the crows seem to like and keep it in stock. Crows tend to like nuts and seeds ~
Establish a regular feeding schedule so they know when to expect you and can create a rhythm with them ~
Don’t overdo it — you don’t need to feed them meals, just enough for them to know that you care and want to befriend them ~
Don’t overdo it. Don’t feed them so much or so often that they become dependent—just a handful of something to show you care.~
Don’t just throw the food out there and walk away. Stay at a respectful distance to watch them eat. You may see them eat it on the spot, or they might choose carefully and fly off to cache it for later ~
Don’t get too close to them as they prefer to be standoffish and may feel threatened ~
>>>
Brb, I'm off to invest in some nuts and seeds. ;)
